About Gentle Connections Therapy

Are you seeking a space where your needs come first?

At Gentle Connections Therapy, we create space for women and gender-expansive individuals to slow down, feel heard, and reconnect with themselves. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, relationships, boundaries, life transitions, parenting, or simply feeling overwhelmed by everything you carry, you don’t have to figure it all out alone.

Meet Allison Engelhardt, LCSW, PMH-C

For decades, my work has centered around supporting people and building meaningful connections. What began with babysitting as a child grew into years of nannying and overnight infant care, experiences that gave me an intimate understanding of relationships, caregiving, family dynamics, and just how much people can carry behind the scenes.

That desire to understand and support people more deeply eventually led me to become a psychotherapist. Today, I work with women and gender-expansive individuals navigating anxiety, relationships, boundaries, identity, parenting, life transitions, and the experiences that have shaped who they are. At the heart of my work is a belief that meaningful change happens when people have a space where they can be fully themselves, feel genuinely understood, and begin to explore their lives with curiosity and compassion.

Supporting Maine Families: Expert Care for Parents and Infants

I work with women and gender-expansive individuals navigating anxiety, self-esteem, body image, boundaries, identity, life transitions, parenting, and challenges within romantic, family, and peer relationships. Much of my work focuses on helping clients understand the patterns, relationships, and experiences that have shaped how they see themselves and move through the world.

Together, we can explore what may be keeping you stuck, strengthen your connection to yourself and others, and develop practical tools for creating meaningful change. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that you deserve space to better understand yourself, your needs, and the life you want to build.
